Operating Principles & Features
LT electric actuator is mainly composed of worm gear and worm main transmission mechanism, hermetically-sealed variable-frequency motor, manual operating assembly, output connection device, intelligent variable-frequency control unit, absolute encoder, and plug-in double sealed wiring unit. Based on current valve position signals provided by remote control room and current valve position signals transmitted from absolute encoders, the intelligent variable-frequency control unit gives commands to drive the motor by logic judgment to operate in the correct direction at a preset speed; drives the worm gear and worm main transmission mechanism; drives the output shaft; drives the valve through the output connection device; converts the changing valve position through the absolute encoder into a corresponding electrical signal and sends it to the intelligent variable-frequency control unit. When consistent with the control signal or receiving various types of protection signals, the intelligent variable-frequency control unit will cancel the drive command to stop the motor. In the event of a power failure, users can use the hand wheel to operate the worm gear through the speed planetary gear. During this process, the LT electric actuator will feed back all kinds of status signals to the remote control room.
Innovative Design
Modular design and independent installation of control units
LT electric actuators' intelligent variable-frequency control units adopt highly modular design, with only three PCBs - one is the power board with power variable-frequency control function to change the output speed and torque of the variable-frequency motor; one is the master control board for receiving control signals and logic processing, controlling the direction of rotation of the motor through the power board to achieve a variety of protection functions, data storage, output status signal, etc.; and the last one is the display panel equipped with display screen and status lights. A variety of open-free settings
The LT electric actuator not only can be operated by pressing buttons on the on-site
operator station, but also can achieve on-site electric operation, menu commissioning, data access by using an infrared remote control (set distance less than 0.7 m), which is very important to field applications.
Bluetooth interface, to achieve communication with mobile phones (Extended Options)
The on-site operator station is equipped with a Bluetooth interface, allowing users to download our proprietary applications from LT website to achieve on-site electric operation, menu commissioning, data upload and download of LT electric actuators.
Manual speed increasing gear
The Manual operation on the speed planetary gear to drive the worm gear and worm main transmission mechanism not only solves the problem of overwhelming force needed for direct loading of output shaft by hand wheel and difficulties in rotating the hand wheel, but also tackles the headaches of large transmission ratio and long time-consumption during the use of hand wheel to drive the worm gear directly.
Big color LCD
The on-site operator station of the LT electric actuator is equipped with a 3.2" big color LCD with a resolution of 320x240, which can display the commissioning menu and all kinds of data, and is able to maintain excellent display performance even at low temperatures, with backlight intensity adjustable on site.
An emergency battery included (optional)
A storage space is specially designed for an emergency battery on the top of the cabinet cover of the control unit assembly of LT electric actuators. The battery has a high capacity of 2000mAH and is used to supply power to the display screen in the event of a power failure, allowing users to check the location of the valve and the isolation between the storage space and electrical space and helping to maintain the isolation between the electrical space and external space.
Plug-in Double Sealed Wiring Unit
The wiring unit adopts full plug-in patchboard design with reference to the connection mode of printed circuit board connector to ingeniously combine the socket and the patchboard as a whole inside the control cabinet. Users only need to complete one-time connection between the external cable and the plug during the initial installation, and there are no disconnection and connection jobs during post-maintenance. Rubber sheet is used as a separator between the patch board and the control cabinet to completely isolate the wiring space and the electrical space of this product, which ensures that the electrical space is isolated from the outside space even if the hole for external cable is not sealed due to negligence. Externally connected with 24 VDC to achieve local setting and data access
LT electric actuators is equipped with an external 24 VDC terminals, which can connect 24 VDC temporary power supply externally for data access and parameter setting when power supply is not available on site.
Absolute Encoder
A 20-bit magnetic multi-turn absolute encoder is used to achieve measure range of 2-1350 circles of the electric actuator with high precision level. Each mechanical position has an unique corresponding code. In the event of a power failure, this correspondence will not be lost, and no battery support is needed. (Patent No.: ZL 2015 2 0440521.9)
Separated Installation
In case the ambient temperature is too high, or there is excessive vibration or when commissioning is impossible on site, the intelligent variable-frequency control unit and this product can be installed separately. A full set of installation assemblies and waterproof connection cables are available. Separated installation is extremely simple, helping to solve the above problems without affecting the overall performance of the actuator.
Variable-frequency Control
LT intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator adopt intelligent variable-frequency control technology -the combination of intelligent control and frequency conversion. The built-in power board (converter) will convert the power supply with fixed voltage and frequency to power supply with adjustable voltage and frequency, to achieve adjustable output torque and speed of the motor for the purpose of controlling them. Compared with traditional electric actuators, intelligent control offers the following advantages for the product.
Electric actuator selection is difficult due to different on-site conditions; in particular, the choice of output speed does not necessarily match the actual working conditions. LT electric actuator has 7types of speed both for on-off directions and ESD control to choose from on-site to achieve optimal control process.
When near or away from the fully-open or fully-closed position, LT intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator will automatically operate at a default low speed, which can avoid the impact of inertia on the valves and drive them smoothly when valve is fully- open or fully- closed.
For the control types, LT Intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator will also automatically operate at a default low speed when the control signal is close to the feedback signal to precisely locate the valve.
For LT intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator, products running at different types of segementation speed can be provided, i.e. two intervals can be set in the on-off direction for the user to select different types of running speed independently (within 7 types), so as to meet the requirement of a small number of segmentation control pipelines for flow change speed conditions. When controlling the full valve travel, the motor start-up and running current of LT Intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator will never exceed the rated current of the motor, which helps to prevent it from burning out due to overheating.
The motor of LT Intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator will automatically operate at a preset low speed without affecting the its driving force on the valves. In the event of jam faults, the motor will automatically raise the operating voltage and increase the output torque without affecting the output speed.
Each specification of LT Intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator are only equipped with two speeds variable-frequency motors, to achieve a wide range of different rotational speed output, effectively reducing the inventory level of motor spare parts.
In addition to achieving control on output torque and speed, frequency conversion technology also helps to realize the following functions of LT Intelligent variable-frequency electric actuator:

When on-site operating conditions are not in line with the factory standard settings, the following parameters of LT electric actuator will be reset through advanced settings. Optional Field bus PROFIBUS_DP single channel/redundant (dual channel), and support DPV0/DPV1/DPV2 protocols.
LT electric actuator can choose single channel or slave redundancy (dual channel) PROFIBUS_DP interface board for PROFIBUS Field bus connection. PROFIBUS_DP board adopts specialized PROFIBUS_DP protocol processor (ASIC/VPC3++) and electrically isolated RS485 interface to transmit data; bus interface board and core processor of the actuator's motherboard are connected with each other and exchange data through CAN bus; core processor of the motherboard provides bus interface board required data and parameters; data and parameters required for bus connection can be set via core processor of the motherboard, such as bus address and redundancy mode.
For slave redundancy interface board, each PROFIBUS_DP channel has independent ASIC and corresponding bus transmission isolated channel. The bus address of these two channels can be set from 2 to 126 independently. Independent communications can transmit data to two master stations simultaneously; and provide reliable high-speed data exchange protection for the communications between the system and the actuator.
It also supports non cyclical DP-V1 services and allows parameter settings, reading of collected data, diagnostic information and data files through bus.
DP-V2 mainly supports clock synchronization or time stamp and slave redundancy functions conforming to protocol requirements.
Control system integration
Required GSD, EDD and FDT/DTM files can be provided for different system integration.
